An Evening with Meredith Miller: Nurturing a Resilient Faith

Redemption Church is excited to host author and pastor Meredith Miller for a special parent event on Wednesday, April 22, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. When it comes to talking with kids about the Bible, many parents feel the pressure to have all the answers or to follow a rigid checklist of "do's and don'ts." Meredith offers a different way—one that focuses on curiosity, trust, and the character of God. During this evening, she will share practical strategies from her newest book, Wonder: 52 Conversations to Help Kids Fall in Love With Scripture. You’ll learn how to move beyond moralistic storytelling and instead invite your children into a life-giving exploration of the Bible’s big, complex story.

Event Highlights:

  • Presentation & Q&A: Hear directly from Meredith and get your questions answered.

  • Childcare: Limited childcare is available for children in elementary school and younger. Spots are filling up, so be sure to register early!

Follow-Up: Parent Roundtable on Woven

The conversation doesn’t end on Wednesday night. Join us the following week for a Parent Roundtable on Wednesday, April 29, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the A-Frame.

While our first evening focuses on the "how-to" of Bible conversations, this roundtable will dive into the "why" behind it all, using Meredith’s foundational book, Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn’t Have to Heal From. We’ll discuss her "spider web" metaphor for faith—building a resilient, flexible faith anchored in God’s character rather than a rigid wall of rules that might crumble under pressure.

How to Participate:

  • Get the Book: Redemption Church has bulk ordered copies of Woven. You can pick yours up at the children’s check in on Sunday morning.

  • Cost: We are providing these books to our community at no cost, though donations ($12 to $20) to help cover the purchase are welcomed.

  • Join the Discussion: This is an informal space to process what we've learned and share how we're putting these ideas into practice at home.

Note: Registration for the Roundtable is separate from the speaking event.
