PARKING LOT FUNDRAISER
We purchased this building in 2010 with a vision to build an outpost of life, light, and hope in a part of the city everyone else was leaving behind. Since then, we’ve faithfully prioritized people over pavement, keeping our expenses low and saving every penny to achieve a healthy financial position. Today, we’re happy to announce that we are finally addressing the issue our trustees, staff, elders, and probably most of you agree is our most glaring: we need a new parking lot.
We initially hoped to patch and seal the blacktop for around $20,000, but experts found significant structural damage and underlying problems. The total cost of the necessary restoration is now going to be closer to $120,000—a large number for us. We feel compelled to move forward now, as people have been falling and getting injured. To fix this critical issue and keep moving forward with the other essential projects we have slated, we are launching the Parking Lot Fund.
One-Time Act of Generosity
Our commitment to being an outpost of life and light requires us to confront the structural failure right beneath our feet. This is beyond routine maintenance; the reality is that our lot is failing. We are moving forward immediately with Phase One, which costs $81,000. We are asking for a special one-time gift to directly fund this structural repair. This immediate act of generosity allows us to fix this glaring issue now without having to compromise the financial resources that safeguard our staff and vital ministries.
Increasing Your Monthly Giving
The second part of our ask appeals to the long work of fidelity and sustainable discipleship. We could pay the full $120,000 by depleting our savings, but that would stall the essential updates our trustees have slated for the coming years—from repairing our flat roof to updating our bathrooms and classrooms. We are asking everyone who is able to commit to increasing your monthly offering by at least $50 a month for the next year. This communal commitment will rebuild our financial foundation, ensuring we can sustain our ministries and keep moving forward with the essential work that makes this facility available for all.
