this week's announcements
bishop william barber event
In partnership with the Good Faith Network, we would like to invite you to a two-day event that promises to inspire, challenge, and empower us all to make a difference in our communities.
Thursday, February 13th - 6:30 - 8:00 PM - Oak Ridge Baptist Church - 9301 Parallel Pkwy, KCK
An Evening of Renewal: We will learn from Rev. William Barber, national civil rights icon and leader of the Poor People's Campaign. Rev. Barber’s powerful work continues to call us all to action in the pursuit of justice and equality, and we are excited to hear his message of hope and transformation.
Friday, February 14th - 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM - Mt. Carmel COGIC - 2025 N. 12th St, KCK
A Morning of Action: We will be putting theory into action with the Bishop as we ask local government officials in the Kansas City area to take bold steps in ending the legacy of redlining by making investments in affordable housing and ending homelessness. Your voice, along with others in our congregation, will be a vital part of this advocacy and action.
We encourage you to attend one or both events as we stand together in faith, justice, and community advocacy. Your presence and involvement can make a significant impact on the lives of those who are struggling with housing insecurity in our area.
