epiphany roundtable
Our Epiphany Roundtable is Sunday, January 19th from 4-6pm. If you are examining your beliefs, traditions or practices, this Epiphany Roundtable is a time to bring your questions and open mind to connect with others who are challenging and deconstructing long held paradigms. Childcare will be provided. No registration is necessary.
nursery & toddler room volunteer training
Nursery and Toddler Room Volunteers, please join us for our annual volunteer training before church on Sunday, January 26th from 9:15 - 9:50am in the Youth Room. Breakfast and childcare will be provided. Please register here to attend and for childcare.
mlk warming center
When: 1/20/25, 8a-6p, split into 4 shifts of 5 people
Where: First Baptist Church of Overland Park, 8200 W 96th St, Overland Park, KS 66212
Volunteer Roles:
Team Lead: someone who is comfortable in a human services role, guiding the other volunteers, and call who needs to be called if an emergency happens (you’ll receive a guide with all of the details)
Volunteers: 3-4 people per shift who help get guests signed in and out, read them the rules, restock snacks and bathrooms as needed, clean up
Volunteer Shifts: 2.5-3 hr shifts. If you’re available for a longer period of time, please sign up for more than 1 shift! Please sign up for shifts here.
project 10/20 underway
The cold weather shelter Project 10/20 is open and continues nightly through the end of March. This overnight shelter houses and feeds homeless men and women during the coldest months. If you would like to provide and meal or volunteer to work, please link here to the Project 10/20 website to register.
