This Pentecost season, we gather in joyful expectation at the church picnic and baptism on July 20. Just as the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in a rushing wind, so too does God’s presence fill the waters of baptism—binding us together with the symbol and seal of God's sacred covenant.
More than a ritual, this act of openness is an invitation to step into the life of God that is close, and forever unfolding. In the waters, we surrender to the mystery—trusting the Spirit to lead us where we cannot yet see, to dwell in the spaces we cannot quantify.
Following the baptism service, we invite everyone to stay for a church picnic—a time of laughter, and a shared meal where we celebrate the sacredness of baptism and the beauty of community. May this sacred moment remind us that God is always moving, calling us deeper, and awakening within us a life renewed by the Spirit.
The church will provide fried chicken, beans, watermelon and drinks.
Please plan to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
