If you are looking for a place to have a contemplative conversation with other folks who have questions and thoughts about the life of faith, come to the Roundtable on February 1st to listen, learn, and hopefully grow.
Join us for a contemplative Ash Wednesday Service, marking the beginning of Lent on February 18th. This will be a family-friendly and self-guided practice with interactive stations designed to lead you in reflecting on the life, death, and hopeful resurrection of Jesus. The final station will offer the imposition of ashes, a reminder of our mortality and need for resurrection.
The youth ministry of Redemption Church will be traveling to the great city of Memphis, TN, for an immersive journey into the heart of the Civil Rights Movement. We think it is essential for our students to not only see the history of the Civil Rights Movement, but also to discuss and wrestle with how the Church (and in particular black liberation theology) gave the movement its imaginative framework.
Join us for our Spring Workday on March 28 as we come together to maintain and beautify our building and grounds. There will be a variety of tasks for all skill levels, from gardening and landscaping to minor repairs and cleaning. This is a great opportunity to serve alongside others and make our church home even more welcoming for everyone.
Redemption Church in Olathe will host a screening and discussion of the documentary Join or Die on Saturday, March 28, at 3:30 PM. This film explores the critical importance of community involvement and the decline of civic organizations in the United States. Following the research of social scientist Robert Putnam, the documentary examines how joining clubs and local groups influences the health of American democracy and individual well-being.
Join us for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 29th, immediately after church! This event is open to all kids 5th grade and younger and features two designated areas for hunting: one for elementary students (K–5th grade) and one for younger children (Preschool & under).
Maundy Thursday marks the beginning of the most sacred time of the Christian year, commemorating the night Jesus shared his final meal with his disciples, known as the Last Supper. The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin “mandatum,” meaning “commandment,” reflecting Jesus’ command to love one another as He has loved us.
Good Friday is a special service during Holy Week that invites the Church to gather together to mourn the death of Jesus.
