Via de EsperanzaOlathe Community Food PantryThe OCFP has been servicing Southern Johnson County since 2004. This ministry of Christian compassion was started by Pastor Daniel Bocanegra, and is located in the building of Via de Esperanza ministry (619A W. Dennis Ave.,Olathe). It is open every Friday morning to anyone in need. Volunteers serve each Friday from 10:30am – 1:30pm. We begin by preparing and sorting food donations and then assist in the distribution of the items and clean up afterward. Redemption Church also supports the food pantry through our monthly “food fight”. Each month we collect one particular item on Sunday mornings. Individuals might be asked to bring rice, canned tomatoes, oatmeal, pinto beans, etc. The item of the month is posted on the homepage of our website. Serving once a month, weekly, or even occasionally at Via de Esperanza are all options to get involved with this crucial ministry in Olathe. If you would like more information, please contact Beth Price. Photos
