Redemption Church Student Ministries
What’s happening w/Junior High? (grades 6-9)
Sundays:
If you are in grades 6-9 and want to make great friendships, learn about God, do crazy stunts and fun games, then the Redemption Junior High Program is one you WON’T want to miss. The junior high group meets every Sunday morning during church (10-11:15). During this time, we get to know one another—and God—on a more intimate level.
Social:
Once a month, we have a social event. These range from movie night to laser tag to Cosmic Bowling. It’s a great time to bring friends and hang out!
Serving:
If you feel like you have a servant’s heart, we have something for you too! We meet once a month for a service project in addition to our social event.
Mid Week Service:
Plus, starting in the Fall, the junior high will meet one night a week for youth group. More information on this group will be posted soon.
What’s happening w/Senior High? (grades 6-9)
Sundays:
If you are in grades 10-12, you will really enjoy our Senior High group. Currently, our senior high group meets after church on Sundays from 11:30-1:30 at the Redemption office. (located behind Subway in the College Park Medical Building). A more in-depth study, this time offers real dialogue about what it means to be a Christian in today’s society. In addition, we are focusing on how to stay a Christian in the early years of adulthood. Teens are encouraged to attend service with their parents and/or volunteer around the church.
Serving:
If you feel like you have a servant’s heart, we have something for you too! We meet once a month for a service project in addition to our social event.
Future:
Over the next year, we are developing just what the senior high kids need and desire to help them in their lives as young Christians. We are a young church and we’re building this student ministry from the ground up. Together the students and adults can and will develop a thriving youth ministry! Come be a part of something special!
What do parents need to know?
Junior High: Middle school can be a fun, yet challenging time for preteens. Their world is changing fast and they are changing fast as well. New issues, struggles and more grown-up situations are thrown at them constantly. How do they navigate through this turbulent time? Where are they getting their questions answered? They are going to ask somebody. And if its not mom or dad, we want to be a home base. We want to be the place to come and listen and be heard, to share questions and fears, and we want to give them the same sort of advice they’d get from you - all through the loving word of Christ.
Senior High: 80 percent of teenagers walk away from Christ and the church when they go to college. Does this statistic alarm you? It’s gotten our attention, that’s for sure. We are committed to overcoming this reality and helping our students to find a vibrant, solid relationship with Christ and the church. We want them to take Christ with them in all areas of life-the good and the bad. We want to help them find friendships with other believers who can help them resist negative peer pressure. Everything we do is focused on the goal of helping the Redemption Church teens to grow in their relationship to Christ.
